Nestled in the heart of North Melbourne on Wreckyn Street, Cafe Tomi is more than just a cafe; it's a cozy haven where coffee lovers and dessert aficionados come together. This charming little gem presents an inviting atmosphere, enriched with jazzy tunes that echo warmth and comfort—all within the intimate setting of a beautifully appointed house front.

Stepping inside, you are immediately wrapped in a delightful ambiance that makes you want to linger. Customers rave about the thoughtful decor and genuine hospitality, with staff that exude kindness and care, ensuring each visit feels special, just like Gonzalo Garcia Tunon noted in his review.

At Cafe Tomi, the menu is a curated blend of signature drinks and delectable pastries that beckon to be savored. Among their offerings, the Le Lemon (A$7.50) stands out with its zesty brightness, while the ChocBerry (A$8.50) will surely win the hearts of chocolate enthusiasts. For those who appreciate an aromatic twist on classic flavors, the Chamomile Long Black (A$9.00) is simply divine. But perhaps the showstopper is the innovative Coco Cloud (A$9.00), where silky coconut cream surprises you with a delightful fizz—an experience perfectly captured by Lil’ Light in her review.

The pastry cabinet is equally impressive, with options that tantalize the taste buds. The Plain Croissant (A$5.50) is, as you would expect, a delightful classic, while the Ham & Cheese Croissant (A$7.50) offers heartiness with each buttery bite. However, do not overlook the unique creations like the Pain Au Suisse (A$7.00) or the seasonal Mushroom & Cream Cheese Danish (A$8.50), which customers have described as “decadent” and mouthwateringly rich.

Cafe Tomi also features guest collaborations that keep the menu fresh and exciting, such as the quirky Pu Er Wants To Become Cola (A$11.00) from guest Charles Duan and the humorously titled Sorry We Don't Have Apple Juice (A$11.00). This variety ensures that you will find something to spark your curiosity and satisfy your palate.

The intimate yet inviting atmosphere, combined with quality ingredients and outstanding service, creates an experience that draws people back time and again—like Harold Yap, who recommends trying the Tomimisu, calling owner Shaun "a terrific guy."

Cafe Tomi isn't just about food and drink; it's about cultivating relationships and creating memories. Whether you’re on a mission for your daily caffeine fix or looking to indulge in quality time with friends and family over dessert, this local gem is a recommendation you won’t want to miss. Discovered my favourite dessert place From the decor, to the service, and amazing desserts, Cafe Tomi is somewhere I see myself going to many times in the future! The drinks were so thoughtfully curated and the tastiest I've tried. The cheesecake and mousse tasted so delicious with the finest quality ingredients and so decadent - the atmosphere was immaculate with jazz music and I can't wait to go back!

visited this morning with my mum for our pre-work matcha run and I was really blown away!! This cafe is such a local gem and I really recommend you to visit. The cafe itself has a wonderful atmosphere, very cosy and it’s just a house front. We got the classic matcha and the premium matcha and they were both amazing. The quality of the matcha is very high, with a strong flavour and bitterness to it that is quite lovely. My favourite aspect though on top of everything else was the customer service. The staff were so lovely ! Super friendly and kind and I couldn’t help but have a big smile on my face throughout our whole interaction albeit a brief one. Thank you to the staff and Cafe Tomi for a lovely start to my day

I was enjoying the smooth coconut cream in the Coco Cloud until I tasted a sudden kick of fizziness! - I was taken by surprise but I LOVED it. I love trying new flavours and this one definitely hit the spot. The garlic bagel with cream cheese and bacon that I had was also sooo yum; my friend had the monsieur croque and I think the Choc-berry! The staff was also really sweet, I felt so bad I dropped my bag really loud, but thank you for being really nice about it╰(*´︶`*)╯ I’ll come again :))

Tried the iced chamomile long black and coco cloud—both were absolutely amazing. Just the right touch of sweetness and balanced aromas. The atmosphere was cozy with great music! The pastry selection looked super tempting too, definitely coming back to try more of their specialty drinks!

OMG — this café is really something special! If you’re looking for a unique night café experience, this place is a must-visit. I absolutely loved the atmosphere — it has a perfect mix of vintage charm with a modern touch, creating a cozy and memorable vibe. From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly and helpful, guiding us to our seats right away. Even reading the menu felt like a fun activity — it reminded me of reading an IELTS passage because of how detailed and creative it was, which made me even more excited to order. Here’s what I tried: • No. 3 Material – Camellia sinensis (Houjicha), Kuromitsu, and Shio Koji Caramel. A beautifully balanced drink with a deep, comforting flavor — I really enjoyed this one. • No. 2 Material – Grapefruit, Sudachi, Bitter Orange, and Shiso. This one was refreshing and light, perfect for a night drink. For desserts: • Dessert No. 2 ($14) – Chocolate mousse with Sansho cream. It was good, but not my personal favorite. • Dessert No. 4 ($13) – Roasted soybean panna cotta with black sugar jelly. This was my absolute favorite of the night — smooth, rich, and packed with flavor. Overall, this café offers a unique menu, a beautiful setting, and a truly memorable experience. I highly recommend stopping by, especially if you want something different from your usual café routine. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

Been here a few times since their soft opening last year in both dine in and takeaway capacities and has become one of my favourite cafes! It has a cozy and low-key vibe with lovely jazz music playing softly in the background. Their coffee is smooth and their cold brew has a lovely floral and fruity note to it. I have also tried the coco cloud and cherry panna cotta and they were so yummy, unique and delicate!
